Bethel Spring Series

by Emma

March 6 & 13 (first 2 of 6 races)
Field: W/M40+/J

These were good early season races. The 40+ men kept things exciting and the pace was pretty fast. We went around and around a 0.9mi course with a power hill for 45 minutes. The wind was pretty brutal. It was basically a men’s race with some gals sprinkled in for flavor. Once the guys had their sprint, we had 5 more laps to go. Shamelessly, most of the women lined up behind Ann-Marie Miller. I refused. I was out in the wind most of the time, but I still have my dignity. The finish was at the top of the hill. I took 4th and 6th in the two races. Not too bad for my first two races of the season. AMM won the whole series.

Housekeeping

New season, new title sponsor, new site. (A lot like the old site, truth be told...)

We've lost two riders to new digs (Meg & Courtney), picked up a new rider (Caroline Lam) and have two riders on the bench due to, well, life! Eve is recovering from a broken collarbone and Andrea is expecting a baby in June. (It's only fair to mention that despite that, she's still riding and can outclimb me in a pinch...)

Sponsor-wise, we're pleased to have joined forces with Bicycle Workshop, located in Tenafly, NJ. Our other new sponsors are SockGuy and the Runcible Spoon Bakery in Nyack, NY, so we'll be set with well-tuned bikes, well-dressed feet & well-filled stomachs! Returning sponsors include Eve Ashcraft Studios, GetFitNYC, Pedro's, AU Digital, C2Snow, and Touch Bodywork.

To read all about last year, you can still get to the old site, but for the future, you'll want to bookmark this address.
